Air Force One ‘Scandal’ – Would They Rather Trump Fly Coach on Spirit Airlines?

Boeing was supposed to deliver the new, state-of-the-art Air Force One in 2022. The projected completion date has now been moved to 2027 – but there is no guarantee that Boeing will meet even that deadline.
And that is absolutely unacceptable.
“So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40 year old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!! MAGA”
Boeing gets about 42 percent of its revenue from government contracts. The contract to replace the two Air Force One jets is $3.9 billion. But they’ve already reported losses totaling $2.5 billion.
CNN called it an expensive and embarrassing albatross.

The current version of Air Force One has been in service for nearly 40 years and President Trump is right to be angry over the delays. There’s simply no excuse.
That’s one of the reasons the Trump administration is reportedly going to accept a luxury Boeing 747 from the Qatari royal family.
That announcement generated outrage from Democrats and Republicans.
“I don’t think it looks good or smells good,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Punchbowl News.
Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri argued that it “would be better if Air Force One were a big, beautiful jet made in the United States of America.”
Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana said he needs to research whether it will pass legal muster. “We ought to follow the law,” he said.
Radio host Erick Erickson delivered a blistering takedown of the Trump Administration.
“Qatar spends a lot of money to improve its image while paying terrorists to murder American citizens. And I do not think the president’s Air Force One substitute should be a plane bought with the same money used to kill American citizens,” Erickson said.
But that paled in comparison to Ben Shapiro’s
“Taking sacks of goodies from people who support Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Jazeera, all the rest — that’s not America First! Like, please define America First in a way that says you should take sacks of cash from the Qatari royals who are behind al-Jazeera. It just isn’t America first in any conceivable way,” submitted Shapiro to start. “So back to the original question: is this good for President Trump? Is it good for his agenda? Is it good for draining the swamp and getting things done? The answer is no, it isn’t. It isn’t. If you want President Trump to succeed, this kind of skeezy stuff needs to stop.”
The fact is that we can’t have the leader of the free world flying in coach on Spirit Airlines.
